Dear Beyonce-- It's true that you don't usually email me--but then again I really can't remember the last time I emailed you, so it's not as if you were ignoring me. And you've been very busy. It is with deep regret that I turn down your invitation. Meeting the President would, indeed, be a high honor. (I understand the chance of meeting him would have been determined by lottery.) He's doing a very good job, given the mess he inherited, and I strongly support him for a second term. I've already made a modest contribution to his campaign. It's encouraging to learn that he also has your support, which I'm certain he appreciates.
You may not be aware that I had a book published recently--Niagara Digressions--which you might enjoy...I think parts of it would make you laugh. You can check it out on Amazon where a number of reviews have been posted. If it does interest you (and you send me an address) I'll be happy to mail an autographed copy--then you could also autograph it, and auction it off, the proceeds going to President Obama's campaign. You're very famous and many would bid to have your autograph on this unusual artifact!
